Open Spot Landing
Open Spot Landing is a 'staple' event at KRAMO, and it's always
a lot of fun. This year we had a number of pretty good flights.
Joe Warnock was closest overall with 3.72 meters -- and he used
a parachute, no less! Arkansas' Stew McNabb was next closest
among adults at 8.10 meters. In the A/B Division, James Johnson
landed only 6.00 meters from the flag to take first place over
the Cass boys -- Allen Cass at 18.22 and Dalton Cass at 25.20.

Predicted Duration
Only James Johnson flew PRD from A Division, so all flyers
were combined. The best thing we can say about this event is
that none of us are going to make it as fortune tellers. The
top score was Dan Kirk's 26 second flight against a 30 second
prediction, for 13.3%. Everybody else, beginning with the
Boris & Natasha Team at 30%, was at 30% error or worse.

1/2A Helicopter Duration
1/2A Helicopter is a tough event...tough enough that few
tried it this year. The best flight of the meet was Bob
Wingate's 28 second 2nd flight, which he backed up with
an 8 second first flight. Stew McNabb's 21 second first
flight put him in 2nd place. Tasmanian Devils rounded out
the other places in the event.

A Superroc Duration
A Superroc featured a number of good flights despite some
occasionally gusty winds. Most flights were very straight,
and very nearly straight up, too. The Boris & Natasha Team
(Bonnie & Mark Johnson) pulled off two decent flights with a
92 cm model to take first, while Bob Wingate had a single
qualifier with a 103 cm long model to take 2nd. Joe Warnock
brought out a kitbashed "Generic E2X Mk 4" made up of 4 of
the Estes kits, just for fun.

C Eggloft Duration
C Eggloft was our most closely competed event, as only 4 seconds
separated first and second places. Kansas City's Dan Kirk cranked
out a 40 second flight for first, followed by fellow KCAR member
Bob Wingate at 36 seconds. B Eggloft Altitude national record
holder Joe Warnock took third at 23 seconds. There were surprisingly
few broken eggs, with the unfortunate exception of Stew McNabb,
who managed to splat two eggs due to 'chute failures.

Sport Scale
Sport Scale was rather thinly populated this year, with only
three entries represented. The top model was Stew McNabb's
Estes Jupiter C (or Juno I, depending on who you ask). Bob
Wingate's D-Region Tomahawk placed 2nd, followed by James
Johnson's Patriot. All three models made nice flights
